been a while
but what else is new, right?
I had the most amazing school/class experience during the beginning of October. During fall break, I took a week long travel class at the Marine Lab called Marine Ecology of the Pacific - the class was a week long trip to the central California coast, from San Fransisco to Monterey. It was definitely the most amazing class I've ever taken - I learned so much and had a great time! We did a lot of exploring cities/towns, checking out local natural areas, doing field work/observing ecology, meeting researchers and hearing about their work, and checking out awesome marine science facilities (and getting tons of behind the scenes, permission required access to everything from the Monterey Bay Aquarium to Barbra Block's tuna center to seeing northern elephant seals up close and person on a beach to a behind the scenes tour of the marine mammals at the UC Santa Cruz Long Marine Lab). The entire week was jam packed with awesome activities and it was such a great time. I am in the process of editing my pics, and as soon as I'm done, they'll be up on my Flickr site (I already posted a bunch in one of my Facebook albums) - this may take a little which though because I took over 400 pics in just a week, so I've got a lot of editing to do.
Aside from the best trip/class ever, things are doing well. I am taking a class called Green by Design about different aspects of sustainability. We've done a variety of things in the class including marine, agricultural, and business aspects of the issue. It is super cool.
Wedding planning is in obviously still in progress, but I can say we are making progress, which is good. I have a dress, we have a date and location, and we have a photographer. Now I just need to get on the phone with caterers and florists...
And find time to work on my MP, which I haven't had time to touch all semester - still!
Back to work though, it's that time of the semester (though it seems like it's been 'that time of the semester' all semester long).
