...announcing my engagement is a good way to end a nearly year long journal drought.
Along with a fiance, I also got the usual money, some clothes, and a baby monitor lizard for Christmas. The holidays were alright, didn't really do anything big. Both parents were out of town, so Amanda and I brought Emily over to the apartment and did the whole Santa thing for her. However, I think our kitten hit the jackpot this Christmas. As if he didn't have enough toys, Amanda nearly doubled his collection. Now I'm glad the holidays are over. Working at Mervyns, it's amazing to see how nasty and rude people are this time of year. A fine example...on Christmas Eve, this grandma was shopping with her kids. The grandma goes into a diabetic seizure. While I call up the managers and Leon calls 911, this other lady is trying to make Courtney ring her up. I explain to this person that this emergency is far more important than her trying to purchase their shit, and this lady just goes crazy on me and Courtney. She's going on about how she doesn't want to be around all this drama and that we have to ring her up. I just flat out tell her no and tell her no one is stopping her from going to another department to have her shit rung up. Oh yea, did I also mention while the little kids are crying and freaking out, she is yelling at the kids to calm down and at the grandma (whose practically dieing at the moment) that she needs to, and I quote, "control her damn kids"? Yea, I'm serious. Human nature....
but hey, YAY, gettin' hitched, all that matters. :-)
