Dear artist or author,
Hello! Thank you in advance for making something for me. I'm very excited to see what you come up with. Here's some information about the sorts of things I like in general, and for my specific fandoms.
General
All my pairings involve characters I love individually and together. I love to see any celebration - or a good deep dig into - my faves. I tend to prefer happy, or at least hopeful stories, although this year I seem to have picked several things that don't really go with happy! That's fine, I don't expect fluff for serial killers, but I'd prefer a light touch when it comes to any angst. I tend to favour keeping characters in their original canon settings, although I enjoy seeing new spins on those settings, fork-in-road AUs etc. For ease of reference, here's a list of my favourite things:
+ Magic and magical realism
+ Humour, high jinks and shenanigans
+ Friendship, both in general and as friends-to-lovers
+ Loyalty, including misplaced loyalty or taking it too far
+ Pining. Mutual pining, ridiculous pining, I eat it up with a spoon, but please make it requited in the end
+ Some of the characters in my ships have canon male love interests. Feel free to ignore them, I honestly don't care
+ AUs I do like - magical AUs, canon divergent fic, Everybody Lives, crime AUs.
+ Kissing, holding hands, playing with hair, snuggling - all that soppy stuff, either played straight or twisted up
+ Bad women being GLORIOUSLY bad and hot with it
For fic - I am happy for any rating, and whatever style suits the story. I love hearing bits of inner monologue, teasing/banter, and people talking about their feelings, even if they do it badly. Especially if they do it badly. Any tense if fine but I prefer third person narration unless the original canon has something different, in which case do as you prefer.
For art - I'm not a fan of explicit art - suggestive is OK but I really like art that's fairly G to PG-13 rated. I love mixed media, cartoons, and "snapshot" type pictures of quiet moments and stolen kisses.
Dislikes - Heavy angst or gore (if the story needs some that's fine, but a light touch please), character bashing, mundane AUs like coffeeshops and so on.
Killing Eve: Eve Polastri/Villanelle | Oksana Astankova & Carolyn Martens/Eve Polastri.
With Eve/Villanelle I love the fucked-up chemistry between them in canon, and anything that gives me more of that would make me super happy. I'm totally down with either mutual destruction or gleeful murder wives, whatever takes your fancy. For Carolyn/Eve I would love Carolyn as a disciplining dom or seducing Eve as part of her scheming. I'd prefer to keep them in their existing universe, but canon divergence might be interesting. Or maybe a spy AU? In any case, I'd love something a bit dark and twisted but with flashes of humour and lightness.
In case it matters, I have only seen the tv show, I've not read any of the books.
For art, I would really love something that celebrates Villanelle's love of fashion, and her fondness for dressing Eve up.
Code Name Verity: Julie Beaufort-Stuart/Maddie Brodatt.
I love, love, love these two and will probably enjoy almost anything that celebrates them. It's like falling in love, finding your best friend, oh my heart! Sweet, tender vignettes or portraits, fork-in-the-road AUs, and FWB are all good. Because WWII is a tricky setting I'm more open to modern AUs here, but please keep some of their canon intrigue. I am 100% on board with Julie surviving and having a happy ending, yes.
For art I'd be interested to see a creative use of WWII or propaganda style art. Join the SOE, find a girlfriend, that sort of thing.
Hungry Daughters of Starving Mothers: Aiko/Jen, Aiko/Seo-Yun, Jen/Seo-Yun.
I loved the story and I just wanted more. The concept of emotions as tangible, edible things fascinated me, and I'd love to see further exploration above (that would be amazing for art!) I'd also be really intrigued to see something from Aiko's POV. Does she survive? If so, what happens to her?
Brooklyn 99: Rosa Diaz/Amy Santiago
My fun choice! I just want Amy and Rosa to have a great time together, supporting each other and coming up with a lot of dorky secret handshakes. Although I like Amy/Jake in canon, feel free to handwave it here. Humour, teasing, and high jinks are all great, and I'd love a reminder that these two are super good at what they do. Case fic with a touch of the absurd would be perfect.
