"Conjure Up Your Deepest Darkest Fear...

...Now Call That Fear To Life". La! This is the motto of Gothic (1986), a film made by crack-pot director Mr. Ken Russell, a man who likes his stories dark, his plots highly fictional and his films lurid and overly dramatic. In short, perfect for a rainy day such as this!

Now, I cannot rent the bloody film, of course (the local Blockbuster boy thinks I'm asking after a little "social tribe" and not a film), but Youtube (Oh! miraculous invention) will give me a hand and, though I'll never be able to enjoy the whole film, at least I can take a little peek at it. Share it with me, will you? ;)

Oh, but before that, The Plot...

"Gothic is the story of the night Mary Shelley gave birth to the horror classic Frankenstein. Disturbed, drug-induced games are played and ghost stories are told one rainy night at the mad Lord Byron's country estate. Personal horrors are revealed and the madness of the evening runs from sexual fantasy to fiercest nightmare. Mary finds herself drawn into the sick world of her lover Shelley and cousin Claire as Byron leads them all down the dark paths of their souls."  (How could I EVER resist not finding a bit of this film with a synopsis like this?! *swoon*)
