So I, as usual, have not posted in half of forever. I think I am tired of promising to be better about that. I'll get around to that whenever. arlla and I had an incredibly productive weekend. I think we blew through about a quarter (or more) of what was left to do for the wedding. The downside was that it was a lot to do. The upside is that for the first time we are starting to feel like the wedding might actually turn out well instead of just silly. I think most instrumental to that was meeting with our florist who was fucking awesome. If you've ever had a long conversation with someone that you've never met but just seems to be precisely on your wavelength that day, you know what that meeting was like. It was simply amazing. His office is his living room and I swear it was one of the more comforting spaces I've ever been in. I have not seen a single one of his creations live, but I know they are going to be wonderful. Even if it was just for his pep talk and excitement, hiring him was totally worth it. It was unfortunately while meeting with him and the cake people (we think that's going to turn out magnificent as well) that I realized I was probably feet away from golemgirl and exzebachay and had no idea how to contact them. :( I had left their address at home and had no phone #. Sorry, guys. And speaking of contacting people. It occurs to me that I have not given updated contact info since I moved. I'll put that up in a friends only post next. Or if I have I have forgotten. We also met with our wedding coordinator and our DJ who were also very comforting and encouraging, which is good. So arlla and I now have hopes for the wedding. For the curious these are our vendors: Rick James for Florist, Phillip Mobely for DJ, and The Buttery for the cake, we've also seen the first draft of the rings and they are awesome, though in need of a bit of fixing up. Even the wedding invitations are supposedly on they way (though I'll believe that when I see it, seriously: don't use Majestic Invites for any of your printing needs) So all in all things seem to be proceeding. Now we get to worry about the wedding outfits - ugh.
Signing off,
Shaftowitz
