I've been participating in a Hayfever study over the last couple of months all in the name of science in the order of earning some extra cash. Luckily for me, I was randomly selected as the Control patient ie the one who takes the placebo. This was excellent because it meant I didn't need to suffer from Hayfever unnecessarily! However two of the seven visits involved having a nasal biopsy. This wasn't really that much fun.
We have old shaky surgeon shoving a pair of tongs/pincers up my nose and ripping a small piece of my nose out. Ouch! The first time the anaesthetic spray had worn off, and then my nose pissed out blood everywhere. The second time(today) my nose was thoroughly numb so didn't hurt. Both times he had to have a second attempt because he stuffed the first one up. Today my nose steadily bled all day until about 5 o'clock when it started working overtime. It was so bad that I had resigned myself to going to the emergency department to get it cauterised, but just as Laura rolled up to pick me up, it seemed to finally stop bleeding. However, it hasn't stopped running, and my nose is red and raw from the constant attention it's been under today.
Laura is lovely to kiss for hours.
The good thing about the study is that I get $700 for my troubles. Which is going straight towards the honeymoon account!
On the weekend after my weeding efforts, the weeds got me back yesterday when my thorn-pricked index finger became infected as part of the thorn was still in it. It was swollen, angry looking and hurt to touch. My legs are suffering from a rash of hives of some kind currently - whether this is related to my gardening endeavours I'm not sure of, as it seemed to happen at work - and are unbearably itchy. I'm wearing tights to create a certain constancy of touch rather than the constantly teasing touch of trouser legs upon them. My legs look sexy in the tights. ;-)
Sticky date pudding is so yummy!
I want my bike.
