Good news! The marks for my fall course were posted yesterday, and I scored a 91. This is pretty impressive, considering that the course is allegedly the most difficult one in the CGA program. I worked extremely hard in the preparation for that exam, so I am very pleased with the result.
I have now passed nine courses, and there are six more to complete. I will have an exam in March, and then I will take the first of four courses at the final (PACE) level. Over the summer, I plan to take a simpler course, that is basically just an extended case study with five deliverables and no exam. Beginning in the fall, I will take the other three PACE level courses, and be done the following June.
I am still having a hard time deciding on my second PACE level elective. I am definitely taking the course on Information Systems, since most of my non-routine work projects involve financial systems analysis and planning. The other options are Advanced Corporate Finance, Internal Audit, and Advanced Personal/Corporate Taxation. I'm leaning toward Tax, since I really enjoyed introductory course, and I didn't enjoy the most recent Finance and Audit courses I took. However, since I do absolutely no work in Tax, it's the least useful for my current career path.
