travels again

hi friends,

been a while since i typed here.

the sound of the keyboard sounds funny in this room that I have just moved the majority of my stuff out of. it's pretty empty and has lots of white walls. tomorrow i move the last stuff out.

on saturday i fly to Portland, for only one day. i promiss that i'll be there for longer next time (this summer) but for now i've promissed myself in ashland by sunday.

i'm chillin in ashland for six days with my sweety, Leora, and then heading down to SF for a minute. then i head to Santa Cruz for a few days for Fruit Tree Tour orientation. I will be on fruit tree tour after my time in SE Asia. on the 10th I leave orientation and head back to SF to fly to Bangalore, India.

my band, Baraka, has been invited to play for over 2.5 million people at the largest interfaith gathering of all times, the Art of Living Foundation's Silver Jubilee. we've been fundraising here in btown and are close enough that we're going for sure. we raised $15,000 in under two months. i know, it's ridiculous. more info on our trip (as well as music and video) at: http://www.artoflivingmidwest.org/baraka

i spend two weeks in Bangalore with the btown crew (9 of us - Kitty, Vanessa, Daniel Moss, Danny Atlas, Justin Peterson, Gabriel Lantz, Chip, Saksi, and I), and then i fly to Thailand to stay for two weeks with my friend Zoe who's dad lives there and has a sweet spot.

then i fly back to the bay and hop on fruit tree tour (http://www.commonvision.org). FTT is three vegge powered busses with 30 or so artists who travel all around cali to schools to do sustainability ciriculum, that uses hiphop, african drum and dance as teaching tools. at the end of the day we end up planting fruit trees with the students on their school campus.

that goes thru the end of april, then I head back to the midwest, and then back out west for summer and autumn.

i'm definately focusing on projects out west for the time being, bloomington doesn't feel like it has much for me right now. maybe more on that later.

anyway, i wanted to give ya'll an update on (part) of my life.

more later hopefully. (people.tribe.net/robintala/blog if you really want more.)

love to you!

peace,

robin
