You're so lucky. I've always wanted to go. What kind of turnout do you normally have? Someday I'll find the time to go. It sounds like fun.

Turnout is usually 12-25 people. I said it was small :-)

I hope you can come some year. We will be glad to have you!

Actually, I think that's a nice little turn out, considering how long ago the movie came out. Sounds like fun!

Well, it's all relative -- Star Trek conventions still get thousands of attendees, and that show was 40 years ago! But I think the ArielCon does pretty well for what it is -- a bunch of people meeting at Disney World and hanging out for a few days :-)

Don't count on it. jimmyknocker January 21 2008, 00:23:47 UTC
I don't care what the folks at my Museum say, I am over The Little Mermaid. In fact, when I visit the parks (on my own time, I might add), I intend to say goodbye to Ariel for the last time. That's it. Finito.

In fact, I will probably ween myself off of Characters, slowly but surely, and focus on what the parks were really made for: pure entertainment. And I don't know if even that will satisfy my escapist needs.

All I can think about is the commercials for Walt Disney World where the smal girl walks hand in hand with Cinderella and how that sends a message that the Disney Princesses should only be for small girls... Pirates are for roughhousing boys, and the only adults in WDW are the parents who think they can afford it all. I am not a parent, nor do I have money coming out the wazoo to afford a trip "on my lunch hour."

The Arielholics are dead. Long live anime.
