This recap will not be as detailed as years past because, well it sucked hardcore and I sped through most of it. However, here it goes:
Justin's opening was nothing spectacular performance wise anyway. Dude is a talented dancer though and that showed through. The lackluster feeling "Sexy/back" live though was a bit disappointing
Jack Black could fall off the face of the planet and I would not miss him in any way shape or form. He is a miserably loud and obnoxious personality who has been funny twice in his life. His opening number looked rushed and thrown together. Actually a lot of this show looked like a bad tech rehearsal. The kind of show that needs 1 more wek of run-throughs before it would be worthwhile.
Ludacris is usually a high energy performer but his performance was dull. Pharrell looked bored as hell on stage. Oh it didn't help that at least 3 times I saw a dancer trip and nearly fall. Then to add to it they brought the sexy Pussycat dolls on stage to do NOTHING!!! Homegirl's mic wasn't turned on and they didn't really dance or contribute to the performance at all. At least that lead "singer" chick looked hot, as usual.
T.I Ok Go and the Killers all gave performances, but i can barely remember what happened during htem because they wrre boring. Oh wait OK Go did their video live. Just in case you have never seen the video. How boring is that. Why just do you video on stage??? I could watch the video to see that!!!
50 cent solidified his place as the dumbest person alive. "sexy girls are everywhere they go from "Michigan to detroit"...Wait excuse me Mr. Cent...isn't Detroit IN Michigan??? Oh i wish those 9 bullet shots had ended his life.
Beyonce gave a mostly spirited performance, although the siren sounds in that song give me a headache. SHe waited too long to remove the trenchcoat and i think this is the 3rd time i have seen her drop from the ceiling, so I think she should switch it up next time. Well she did sound and look good, so I guess it wasn't a total loss.
Oh goody the no taslent having Jackass, Jackasses are back for a few more minutes of fame. Johnny Knoxville may actually be talented but he is forever mired in stupidity with the rest of those morons
I was with the All American Rejects performance right up until the tail end when he seemed to lose the pitch and go horribly off key. Other than that though it was above average.
Christina Aguiera had the single amazing performance of the evening. I love that song and she performed the hell out of it. Looked elegant as well and really stole the show with the power behind those vocals!
I know there are people on this planet who think Sarah Silverman is funny, I just don't know any of those people. Lance Bass jokes?? Paris Hilton jokes?? COme on Sarah, you are supposed to be a daring, push the boundaries comic.
Al Gore was about the best thing on this damn show. That is sad.
MTV, oh how the mighty have fallen. We want Chris Rock!!!
