This requires more than a little set-up. There's
this thread over on rpg.net, right? Apparently a certain romance author plagiarized some of her books-not, as you might expect, the romance parts, but random bits of trivia about ferrets, or Native American cultures, or Hiawatha... you get the picture. So, the posters of rpg.net got into sandwiching wikipedia entries in between bits of romance novel.
Naturally, my Candy-ninjas wanted in. And, like always, Robert was available to help me take this idea to its illogical conclusion.
So: Iruka/Shikamaru. Rated PG-15ish. No worse than the average romance novel, except it involves 2 male ninjas. And, um, bits of the wiki article on the Arc de Triomphe, taken more or less verbatim.
"The monument . . . was designed . . . by Jean Chalgrin in 18..... oh!" gasped Shikamaru, arching his back, as Iruka ran his hand down his stomach.
"Tsk, Shikamaru. I know you've studied harder than that," scolded Iruka, pulling back. "Am I too distracting? Should I leave, and let you get back to reviewing?" Iruka made as if to move off the bed, and Shikamaru moaned in disappointment. "No....sensei, I'm sorry. I just lost my train of thought."
"All right. Try again, then. You were about to tell me about its iconographic program," leered Iruka, still not touching Shikamaru.
"Its iconographic program pitted heroically nude French youths against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail and set the tone for public monuments, with triumphant nationalistic messages, until World War I," responded Shikamaru, with alacrity, reaching out to pull Iruka back to him.
