Guido!!
so, I just watched 8 1/2 for the first time and I have to say, I was thoroughly blown away. It was just wild. I think what I found most profound from it was that practically everyone in the film lies to themselves, in one way or another, but the one person who is honest, the one person who never lies and is faithful is Guido's wife, Luisa, but we see her as an emotional wreck. She stays with him for no apparent reason, knowing full well that he's cheated, knowing full well that he is always looking at other women. And she is a mess, she doesn't keep it in, she's just... human about it. I really liked that.
