Rihan is fairly tall, well in-shape, and notably young looking for being over 400 years old; at most he appears in his early thirties. His eyes are amber in color and, considering the era he's from, he's typically wearing a green and black-striped kimono, with everything else he wears from the Edo time era as well. His most notable feature though is his hair; jet black and a little wavy, it hangs down messily over the right side of his face and has a pretty untamed look to it. The more notable part is that the back of his hair sticks straight out by means of defying gravity, with a ponytail tied underneath it.
Rihan also has a 'human' form in which he looks almost identical to his normal, demon form, but his hair falls normally behind his head in a long, loose ponytail instead of defying gravity.

Cause of Death: Canonly dies from being stabbed through the chest by a girl he believed to be Yamabuki Otome's daughter.
Abilities:
- Meikyou Shisui: Inherited ability from his demon lineage; able to shift the awareness of people/demons away from himself, making it seem as if he's disappeared. Typically used as a defensive illusion to make his opponent believe him to be in one place when he isn't.
- Healing: Able to consciously heal wounds and illnesses.
- Swordsmanship: Self-explanatory.
- Matoi: An ability created by Rihan which allows a demon to possess his human half, layering their power, or 'fear' as its referred to, over his own and increasing his strength. There are two known methods under the Matoi technique.

As the supreme commander for a clan of demons numbering in the thousands and spread over all of Edo, Rihan takes his job very seriously. By which I mean, he frequently wanders off on his own without notice or warning, abuses his inherited abilities to wander into bars and restaurants for free meals and alcohol, and flirts with girls despite being quite happily married. Rihan's definitely one of the more laid-back commanders you'll ever meet when it comes to off-time responsibilities; meaning he ignores them completely. He's much more fond of simply immersing himself in the culture around him rather than trying to sit back in an impartial place and rule it. If there isn't a pressing danger in sight, he'll take to the habit of wandering around city to city, never staying very long in one place before moving along to the next. A part of it is his demonic nature, the 'Nurarihyon' demon being one known to wander in and out of houses without being noticed, but a good deal of it is Rihan's own wanderlust and curiosity. For Edo in particular, he has a strong attachment to it and wants to see the places and things happening around him for himself, which transfers over into anything else he gets himself involved.
Rihan himself is a very carefree and playful person, more than happy to interact with people when given the chance. He carries a very casual air to him in both mannerisms and speech, giving off the impression that he's completely familiar with a person despite having just met for the first time. He can also be a little crude as a result, making suggestive comments around people he actually is familiar with, but they're always kept lighthearted and teasing. Holding back his opinion is never really an option for Rihan and he's more than willing to say straight out what his thoughts are on a matter. He is a little fond of the dramatics though, and 'being the hero' with a flourishing speech and dramatic entrance and everything. But overall Rihan gives the impression of a guy who just wants to have fun, which is exactly what he is.

He's also the kind of person to charge straight into combat alongside his men, but smart enough to delegate responsibilities to his men rather than try to take on everything by himself. He inherently trusts his clan and their power to back him up whenever he needs them and expects them to trust him as their leader to do everything he can to protect them.
