Just finished watching Maggie Smith in
Keeping Mum. I just adore Maggie Smith! She was everything I hoped she would be in this movie!
I received it along with Becoming Jane for my birthday from Fish's Mom and Dad. :) I loved it. I have wanted to see this one for such a long time. Never could find it for rent locally and when I found it in a Planet Music they wanted a bloody arm and leg for it. Well, hooray for Amazon wish lists!
I loved it! (did I say that already?) Hooray for British Comedy!
Haven't watched Becoming Jane yet, but I am saving that one to watch with Andrew.
Had a dr appt today. Blah. I will be going in sometime next week, I guess, for diabetes screening. This time she wants the one with me drinking horrid glucose and having blood drawn at one and 2 hrs after. She also is going to have a Ca-125 blood test done. This is to mainly reassure me that nothing dreadful is going on with my ovaries. Damn the fact that there is no ovarian cancer screening. Not that is concerned about that at this time. That there doesn't appear to be any familial lines for me to worry. Until, after I got home and spoke to my mother and learned that her grandmother died of ovarian cancer. And the only other cancer the doc mentioned that would be one they looked for in familial screening is colon/rectal cancer. My mothers brother had that. So I think that I am glad they are going to run that Ca-125 test after all.
Apparently and I didn't quite get this, she in also quite concerned about my glaucoma suspect and says that it is very important that I do make sure they are keeping an eye on this. Maybe there is something about PCOS that also has to do with glaucoma. Also learned that with PCOS I will also be at risk for insulin resistance.
I sort of walked away from appt feeling sort of screwed with my medical shite.
Getting older sucks. Can we just stop the birthday-go-round and let me off?
