I am going to be fairly busy over the next few weeks. So much so that I don't think I'll get home for at least 4 weeks, which might pose problems, and also, I don't want my course work to suffer.
Tomorrow (Monday 31st) is the second half of the teams of four Bridge competition in the Galway bridge center. That'll be on from 1930 - 2330.
This Thursday I'm representing the Science Faculty (with Peter) in the Interfaculties final. That's on here at Lit'n'Deb so no travelling, however, I will need to prepare for that as I really REALLY need to win it if I want to achieve my goal of qualifying for speaker of the year this year.
Next Sunday (6th February) is my second round of the Irish Mace debating competition. Me anbd Donna will compete in that round (in which there are at least 2 and possibly all 3 excellent teams.) Chances are slim that we'll get through, but we'll hopefully do our best. What'll hold us back more than anything is the fact that we (and especially Donna) have little free time to prepare properly for it and I'm kinda worried we won't do as well as we maybe should.
The Tuesday and Wednesday after that (8th/9th), Robert is organising some sort of Internal Mace competition. I'm not exactly sure how this will work but it inolves several rounds and tabbing people and teams to try and rank Galway speakers in some way, or something like that. Well, whatever way it's being run, on principle, I think it's a very good idea and long overdue.
That weekend (Friday 11th/Saturday 12th) is the Galway National Law Debates which I will be helping organising. In fact, I think I will be doing the tabbing myself, but I'm not sure as Peter may or may not be still organising the competition.
The following Thursday (17th) through to Monday (21st) is the Scottish debating weekend consisting of the Glasgow IV, The Strathclyde IV and the Edinburgh IV, all 1 day debating Intervarsities. I'm speaking with Barry in those, so hopefully we'll improve on our teamwork in Trinity.
So yeah, I'll be fairly busy over the next few weeks.
