So I am still alive....and I'm just wondering how I managed to stay away from LJ for two months. My last post was on October 14th!
I think it's because I really don't have that much to say, or to talk about, really. I go to work from Monday to Friday, on Friday nights I have choir rehearsal, on Saturday I either do the housework I've neglected for weeks, or have something else to do, and on Sunday I go to church. That's pretty much the cycle of life. Somedays my boss is a little bitchier than other days. Somedays one of my coworkers confuses me more than other days. Somedays my family is less tolerable than other days. Somedays I pray more than other days. But for the most part, my life doesn't really change from week to week. Nothing extraordinary, nothing really out of place, just a life.
I'm not bored with it though. I'm quite happy. I'm content, I'm at peace.
I would like to tell you guys a story though. Last week, the gospel choir I'm in had it's two annual Christmas concerts (one on Saturday, one on Sunday). These was a bittersweet concert, because as happy and prayerful and worshipful we were, we were also sad because one of our choir members, Stephanie, is in the hospital fighting cancer. She wasn't able to come to either of the concerts.
So at the Sunday concert, we told the audience about Steph and her battle with cancer, and one of the audience members (who happened to be my Pastor) was so moved by our concert, and by the presence he felt during the whole performance, that he went up to one of the guest singers that we had, and asked her to go back and tell Lisa (our choir director) that we ALL need to pray for Steph at that moment - the choir, Lisa, the audience, EVERYONE. So Lisa led us all in prayer that night. My Pastor called me that night and he told me that something was gonna happen because of this prayer, that it was going to be answered.
On Momday, Lisa, Shelly (another choir member and good friend of mine) and I went to see Steph at the hospital. Lisa had already talked to Steph on the phone and told her about us praying for her the night before. When Shelly and I got there, Steph says to us "Guys, look at this, look at how God answers prayer..." She showed us her blood test results. Her platelet count almost TRIPLED overnight!! Her doctors could not explain how that could even be possible...her doctors say there is NO medical explanation for that. The explanation is the power of prayer, and the power of God. Miracle before my eyes. And I'll leave it at that.
On to more trivial matters...Gwen Stefani - Hollaback Girl? Grammy nominated for RECORD OF THE YEAR?? This whole music industry is now beyond help. I'm rooting for Stevie Wonder in EVERYTHING....his album is great.
And that is all.
