http://www.newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71429 For those who are link-a-phobic that is an article about a raid at the Motor City Comic Convention by the RIAA targeting dealers who are selling Bootleg DVD's for profit.
I always wondered when this would happen, I've been going to conventions for almost a decade now and slowly I've seen the one table full of either DVD's or Tapes of old 80's shows and other bits and pieces of movies that you cannot find on the open market to multiple tables with selections ranging from the old stuff to copies of movies that are still in the theaters.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against copying, my bro and I do that all the time if he finds a new band that he likes and he thinks I might like he'll buy the disk, burn a copy for me and I'll give it a listen...9 times outta 10 if I like it I'll get my own legit copy. But that is worlds away from finding DVD's of 'The DaVinci Code' for sale the day of (or even the day before) the movie opens in theaters. GAH!
