Uh oh...not again...

Last fall when the WB annouced that it would be doing a live action series on the comic 'Birds of Prey' I was excited, this was one of my favorate comics, and it has great potential for being a high flying action series. You got a hot blond that can kick ass jumping all over the globe under the guidence of another chick, who was THE information broker on the planet...and oh she's in a wheelchair too. It had it all.

Then the WB decided not to use that and 'tweek' it to such a degree that it bore NO resemblance to the original comic. Acks...needless to say it bombed BIG time.

Now they do it AGAIN @_@ Check out this blurb on the new drama that the WB is toteing for their fall line up;

Tarzan
The WB, Sunday 9 p.m.
Premise: A contemporary spin on an old story. Two decades after his parents died in the African jungle, leaving him to be raised by apes, Tarzan is captured by his billionaire uncle and brought back to New York City. Escaping captivity, he meets a police detective named Jane who is already romantically involved with another man, leaving her to choose between civilization and humanity.
From What We've Seen: Think "Beauty and the Beast," except the beast is really pretty and has great abs. Calvin Klein model Travis Fimmel is the jungle-raised man, while Mitch Pileggi, leaving ambiguity at his old job, is the mean old uncle. NYPD detective Jane is indebted to Tarzan after he saves her life, and thus begins a crusade to see why he's being kept under lock and key -- a crusade that involves lots of longing gazes and romantic tension.
Stars: Travis Fimmel, Mitch Pileggi ("The X-Files"), Sarah Wayne Callies, Johnny Messner, Miguel A. Nunez Jr. and Sarah-Jane Potts

If you found the Disney version of Burrough's not amusing...I'm wondering how they got this new version of the old 80's TV Show past the Burroughs Trust. And before you say NO they didn't give permission to Disney...Disney bought it ect ect... Check out the official site http://www.tarzan.org/ and the back of the Disney Tarzan merchandise, the Burroughs Trust is listed BEFORE Disney in the copyrights, so yeah they gave permission and had some say in the final product *winces*

Now excuse me while I find an asprin.
