Site's I really like...

Jan 08, 2006 20:31

Basically, this is my brainstorm:

Yeah, they have that boxy ness to them :/ alas, it is the in thing to do:

http://charliedeets.com/ - a friend of a friend's friend

http://www.gravitystudios.com/ - a friend of a friend's friend's friend ( I more like the Flash version of it.... but that may be more than I have the knowledge to do... but I do have the programs)

http://www.lovehasnologic.com/ - blog hoster with some good web design ideas

http://www.alistapart.com/ - excelent clean web designing. nice articles and looks like some tutorials and designin structure.

I hope my site NOT look like this >:( :

http://pronaus.kbx81.net/
http://skarab.com/
LOL! ... uh.. no.
http://www.prank-machine.com/home.html

This is okay... but not intirely appropriate: http://www.kbx81.net/
I do however, think it can be incorporated into the over all purpose of my site needs.
Actually, it really would be good for my site....

I'd need a dual view though... maybe... one for high graphics, and significantly text based.

hehe,.... funny..:http://www.bawls.com/... the side line feature might be really cute if I throw a random critter that crawls accross an obscure location on the website.... Tis an idea

http://www.joeyhagedorn.com/deliverables/ --- deliverables... very sexy... that word.. deliverables.. ah, memmories of CI last semseter.. :)

Webdesign wishlist:

  • public-to-private access keys

I want a section that is exspressly public, as well as one that requires a privacy access key.

This privacy access key will hold access to my embedded LiveJournal. As well as a listing of other personal sites and contact information. Basically, a personal portal site.

  • Art focus gallery

in which kbx81's site will be an excelent template jumper. Here will be a seperate branched site ... one for visual arts, the other for literary works - poetry.

  • A resume

  • Possibly a Deliverables/Portfolio site

This would be where compleated projects would most likely be posted. I wonder which is more apropos... a 'Deliverales' or a 'Portfolio'

  • an initiatives page

A listing of current projects, and planned for projects.

  • My Embeded Journal

.... either GJ or LJ ... we shall see. (obviously this will require an access code.

  • a science focus page

This will feature various articles I intend to write, or have written. Works for Argonne and other such goodies.

  • a news aggrigation site

Will feature various articles of interest to myself... and have -perhaps- an underlying political slant .. albit, very subtle.

  • an exstensive links site

This will be taken directly from my Links of Learning compilation. Basically, I hope that it will be viewed as an exstensive portal site.

  • a career focus paper

basically, this will state the purpose for the intierty and the deapth of the site. It will service 1)myself, as a clarification and directional beacon for my life, and a goals orientation center, as well as a basic librarian tool-kit and entomologist exploration. 2) as an information clearing house, portal, and news aggrigator. As well as an update condensation for all that is Scully.

Seamus once asked, that if I were to choose another academic disapline, what would it be... I think it is pretty obvious that Web Design would have been high up there.

I'm finding these sites through various friends lists of stufff.... OMG! I'm stalking. lol

I hereby declare Joey a person of interest.... I shall have to request John to introduce me :) *is turoghly impressed with the inclusion of "deliverables"... not to mention SULI doesn't hurt.

What's SULI... oh.... just.... something closely related to .... um... that thing. Este, my co-worker of Summer 2004 was apart of SULI.

    Edit: John's sugestions

  • tikiwiki
  • wordpress
  • have Joey poke me.

*shakes fist at John* him and his blasted poking.
  • web development, web design, web site
