Spider-man 3 review
Alright MAJOR SPOILERS, don't read this part if you havn't seen Spiderman yet:
Okay, things I thought were really cool: Black Spidey was kinda bad ass. The first fight with HArry was really quite good and then when he lost his memory, it looked like it was going to be really incredible. And I thought the whole fight in Harry's house thing and him flinging the bomb back in Harry's face was kinda awesome. The battle scenes with the Sandman were pretty cool too and I like that he just kinda killed him somewhere in the middle there, it was good. Topher Grace is cool. I especially loved the scene in the church, I liked that. Also, the fight at the end wasn't too bad, I thought it was pretty good, coulda been a little better though... And I especially like that Doctor Conners has that little piece of the Symbyote with him which opens the door for Lizardman and Carnage. Sweet.
Things that sucked: Any dialog. Really... When he talks to Aunt May, it's lame. Harry? Lame. Even Mary Jane's part wasn't a main focal point of the movie which is really dumb because she was one of the most important roles in both of the other two. LAME. Anyway,another thing that killed me was, where the hell did the symbyote come from? It just happen to land right next to Peter and MJ and come out immediatly latch on to his bike and then wait two weeks before acctually attaching itself to Peter? That was dumb. And I hate how Peter became emo. He couldn't just be bad ass, isn't that enough? Gwen Stacy, in the comic books, plays a much bigger role... Hopefully, they'll get that one right in the next movie. And what's up with Harry? He's supposed to be insane like his dad was. Instead he's just grief ridden and when he fails to kill spiderman that's the end for him? No, I don't believe it. And that fact that Harry just teams up with him later is dumb. That would never happen... Speaking of team ups, how the hell did Venom know everything about the Sandman!? That just pisses me off so much. And why would Sandman want to kill Peter so badly and then just apologize at the end like he didn't mean to do any of it? And why wasn't there a major fight scene with Venom before they teamed up, huh? That's ridiculous, Venom's crazy! And yeah, Venom's supposed to be kinda crazy, not carnage crazy but, he always refers to himself as "we" or "us". What happened to that? And then Topher Grace went and got himself blown up... Not cool.

Okay so here's what I think happened, they had too many storylines going at once. In the first movie they just have Spiderman and the Green Goblin with a little Harry and MJ in the mix. That's one good guy, one bad guy. In Spiderman 2, Spidey and Doc Ock again with a little Harry and MJ thrown in there for good measure. Again one bad guy, one good guy. Do you see what I'm getting at here? But in this movie, They're trying to fit in three bad guys, Spiderman and a huge relationship with MJ, all of which are extremely important things and all need as much attention to detail as possible. So, with four major storylines all crammed into two and half hours, the writters really did not leave enough room to make these key pieces any good. You need comic book geeks writting these sorta things. I mean sure they'd write you something that'd be four hours long,but hell, that'd be one damn good movie.
