More with the Busy

Yesterday was pretty good. I got my tips mailed off and hopefully I'll hear back from that soon. I stopped in at Michael's and thanks to sorchawench (I know it really 'is' all her fault *wink*) they didn't have the double pointed needles that I needed. All the other sizes but no 7s. I was close to buying some gorgeous yarn that was on clearance because it would have made gorgeous socks. I ended up not because Lynn didn't give me permission to do so. Not really, but if I was going to have to check another store then I'd just as well wait until then to buy it. I'll probably still end up going back and getting it.

Then, since the sky was looking decidedly dark I figured I should get a move on toward the library to meet up with the Manga Club for the shopping trip. On the way there it started coming down really hard. I got to see lightening strike on the other side of the freeway. That was kind of cool and kind of scary. But after I drove through the worst of it the skies cleared up and it wasn't raining at the library.

I'll mention now that I am really not a shopper. As a kid Nanny and I would go shopping and we'd spend several hours looking at things. Actually, she'd spend several hours looking and I'd spend them bored. I could check out the electronics but there was only so much new stuff to check out every week. So my typical mode of operation when shopping is know what I want, go in, get it and go ... unless it's yarn and even then I'm still under an hour unless I'm at the yarn store and have questions or trouble finding something.

So, yesterday? I had an allowance of $40. Because it was Monday everything they had was $0.75. I was the first of the adults finished but it was fun going with a group and having more eyes helping for everybody. I want to go back on a Wednesday because then everything is $0..25. I ended up with 25 items and only paid $18.75. Tons of tops, a couple pair of pants, and two skirts, one of which I should hopefully be able to fit into soon. I wouldn't have bought the skirt or the top that didn't fit had they had a place to try them on but still, very good haul.

Once we got all the kids back to the library and handed off to their parents I headed home with a detour to Hobby Lobby to see if they had my DPNs. *blows raspberry at sorchawench* They did too! Then I came home to hugs and kisses from the Husband and Nox-Puppy. Lynn fixed dinner while I did an impromptu try on / model of my purchases.

By then I was at my limit though. My feet, calves, and lower back had been screaming for several hours. When we went to bed later Lynn gave me a fantastic massage but they're still a wee bit sore today. I'll be doing a bit of yoga and a warm bath before heading over to take care getting the car registered.
