Computer Calamities
Saturday we got up and moving fairly early because we wanted to go and enjoy the KRB Annual Kid's Day on Buffalo Bayou in downtown. They had tons of kid's activities and handouts. Miss Kid came home with a huge bag full of stuff including seeds, legos, and activity sheets. After running around in the hot sun we stopped for ice cream on the way home. Back home we dealt with the note the apartment complex left on our door about us having an unauthorized dog in our apartment. Stupid crap as she's in the lease but at least it's fixed now. We decided it was time to check out the pool here so we suited up and went to roughhouse in the water. Eventually though I tempted Lynn and Miss Kid out with talk of dinner. Miss Kid cooked most of dinner as I want her to start doing more of that when she's here for the month of July. I had Lynn cut up the meat into even portions and she cooked it with some cracked black pepper marinade and chopped portabella mushrooms. She also made mashed potatoes and fixed up a salad for Lynn and I. We all agreed that it was very tasty!
Sunday was a lazy day. We started off with white chocolate / butterscotch chip pancakes and spent most of the day simply messing around on the computers. Miss Kid helped me on a couple of games that I was working on. We did get around to getting the rest of the books out of boxes and on the shelves. The last set of shelves are double stacked but at least we have access to them all again. Dinner was pork chops baked in blueberry chipotle sauce and carrots cooked with a little bit of butter and brown sugar.
It's not been such a good weekend for the electronics though. Thursday night it became obvious that the charger for my old cell phone has a short in it. Normally, since I don't have service to that phone, it wouldn't be a problem, but I play sudoku on it each night before going to sleep. It helps me wind down and relax. Friday I figured out that the reason my cooling fan under my laptop kept cutting off was because of the power cord also having a short in it. And last night the desktop started dropping video until the screen went black, so the video card is out on the computer I watch all my hulu on. Hopefully either the 95 machine or the 98 machine will have a video card we can swap with.
On top of all that I managed to get a sunburn on Saturday. This is apparently a habit I've gotten into before visiting Mr. Boyfriend as I also got burned last summer before I went to see him. On the plus side my arms have already turned back to brown, however my back and chest are still red. At least Lynn's lovely and has been keeping me covered in aloe to help with pain. I'm really hoping I can avoid the peeling as I'd really rather not be molting when I visit Mr. Boyfriend. Somehow I don't think that really equals sexy fun times.
