Yeah...  My intention to write everyday went completely downhill while we've had my godson here with me having to get up at 5.30am for him to be dropped off, cranky toddler because his sleep schedule has been messed up, and now we'll have him from 6 this morning until Monday afternoon while the Evil Chipmunk, his mom, goes out of town to take her father back home to Mississippi. His two year old cousin is turning out to be a very bad influence on him with tantrums, screaming, throwing things (especially at people or animals), and hitting people.  While we may change the behavior this weekend and it might be awhile before his grandmother babysits the cousin since her surgery, I know the behavior will come back.

In other, high profile news from this week.  I'm glad close friends are safe in Boston.  One works two buildings away from the first bomb but he wasn't working in Boston Monday.  The other is their daughter who lives one suburb over and she's been posting about staying safe with all the chaos there today.  She and her friends are safe, taking good measure to stay in and keeping her mom informed and she sends it down to us.  As sistahs, we've all adopted their kids and worry about them, too.  Hard not to when you got pictures of them for years as they've grown up.  =P

Now, for West.  We live about 30 miles away (35 if you map it, but that's because we have no straight/direct roads) so that night when the explosion happened, we felt the wave.  It sounded like a loud crack of spring storms, which we were supposed to have later that night anyway, and it shook the windows and hanging fixtures in the same storm manner.  No one I know lives in West, but a local volunteer firefighter was doing EMS training there and died in the explosion while responding to the initial fire.  He was one of the guys that responded to gma's stroke last year and made sure she got into Care Flight safely.  So, RIP Perry and thank you for your service.

Oh, and the insomnia the last week and a half has been really mean.
