Seasons 1-5 found
here.
First, some random thoughts about season 6. It's generally considered the weakest season of the series, and with good reason--the final act barely ties into the first two thirds of the season, and a few other problems. On the other hand, parts of it are favorites of mine--I adore Morris, for starters. And I like that the season explores some of the long-term consequences of torture that the show doesn't address anywhere else. It all comes to a head in the last ten minutes or so of the season finale--and let me tell you, I could write reams of essays on Jack's conversation with Heller there and at some point I might actually write at least one--and...I don't know. For all its weaknesses, there are parts of this season I really like. I still think the show peaked in seasons 3-5, but I don't find Day Six as terrible as some people think it is. But that's just my personal opinion.
(Also, I find it kind of...I don't even know the word, but S6, which ends with Jack walking away from his Second Love forever, is probably the happiest season finale other than S2, where he's entering what is probably an extended hospital stay due to cardiac trouble, but he's finally and completely reconciled with his daughter and rebuilding his life. Seriously. S1? Jack's wife is murdered in the final moments. S3? Jack breaks down crying in his car, his best friend is going to prison for treason, he had to cut off his sidekick's hand and is headed for rehab I swear it makes sense in context. S4? Jack fakes his death and flees with only four people in the world knowing he's alive. S5? Ends with him in a creepy warehouse with chains, about to spend twenty long months in prison, setting up S6.
...24 is not a show to watch if you like happy endings.)
