the other night, we went over to a friend of Mike's here in Baton Rouge
you would not believe what we found
the guy had somehow inherited 4 crates of old records [as in "vinyl LPs"]
there were all kinds of crappy ones and very few ones that might sound alright
we wound up paying him nearly 18$ for a dozen of them
one he gave me due to the artwork being badass
I'll make a proper list of our musical finds later on when I go to my mom's
to make matters weirder, there were 9 old Moody Blues albums
which I only bought for my mom [considering her "relationship" with the band]
she'd lost a great deal of her old albums back when Hurricane Andrew struck
I thought they'd be great to surprise her with...
that is until Mike killed the element of surprise completely
now she knows we have them and yet he could've withheld information....like usual
so for the time being, as I type this up, I can't help but to feel like he stole my thunder
everybody seems to be doing that lately, too
I don't even feel like venting yet...not 'til we leave his folks' place
I'd rather not make a scene if I can help it
but it still makes me feel bad
this felt like a good moment for me too
I barely ever feel like a normal person at all
I rarely get a chance to have anything worth showing off or giving away as gifts
and this one rare opportunity arises before me...
only to get shot down the moment he gave away too much information
ever the king of the overshares, lol
this time I feel like he's really outdone himself
I found the records, I went the extra step to convince him to buy them
and I apparently was the one who got blindsided when he took it upon himself to spill the beans
so now I get the luxury of figuring out how to get over it
at least we'll have a good 2 hours to think before we get back to our tiny domicile
*crosses fingers* I hope things blow over soon
just so long as I don't get blown away, too
on the plus side of things at least my sunburn's not so bad
it only hurts when I stop moving
it's hard to remember to hit the ground running in the mornings, though
I'm hoping the pain will be gone in at least a week or so
until then, I'm at the good graces of the gods
maybe they'll take it easy on me this time
one can only hope
overshares,
vinyl records,
moody blues
