SO!

What's new with everyone???

I've been fantastic! Where do I begin?

Umm. Well. Last year, LAST day of June 2011 to be exact, I was laid off at my job with Progress Financial. It was a HUGE bummer. And I totally did not know how to tell my wife that I had just been laid off.

It was one of our biggest struggles in our marriage ever. But somehow, we got through it and grew from it. Its actually pretty amazing how everything worked out.

For one thing, we talked to some of our closest friends from church about it and like, 1 week after, one of our friend's informed us that at her mom's job (a night shift janitorial job for Enterprise), and within that week, my wife actually got the job there. So not only did we benefit from income from Unemployment, but also had some extra cash on the side. Honestly, it was a long 7 months with no employment.

Luckily, in September of last year, I still had the LA County Fair. So it helped even more for that month. Things really started looking up when I got a call for an interview back in Febuary for Behr Paints. I now work as a Call Center Representative for Behr Paints, Behr Wood Stains, and Behr Concrete Paints. I must point out that the work environment is absoutely AWESOME. Never in a million years would I have thought that there were companies out here in SoCal who actually pride themselves with the workers they have.

There is always a Monday Treat (free food), we have PotLucks, the supervisors are constantly meeting with us to get feedback, multiple competitions, and the people are very lively here. Even though there are jerk customers who call just to be jerks, it's still a great place to work. I defintely do take a lot of pride in working here!

Life has been dandy in other areas as well. My son is getting to be so tall now and he's is now in Pre-School and talking and communicating with me much more. Very active and is in a phase where he will listen and sometimes not listen. Definitely will bring out the grey hairs on my head in the teen years. But I love him. And I totally know he loves me. I never this feeling could exist in parenthood... well, of course, I knew it existed, but I didn't know HOW it exactly felt. Hahaha.

And of course, my beautiful wife.... always so patient with me. Even though we have hard times here and there, just like any other couples, she has always stood by my side. We have never called it quits. Because we believe in making things work out and moving forward. I love her. And I desire to always be by her side and grow old with her.

We started a mentorship at Calvary Faith Center with an old friend who offered himself to us to help us grow in our marriage, financial counsoling, ministry, and vision. It required us having to leave our church for the time of the mentorship to grow and focus on our goals and vision. It was hard at first, but slowly, we grew attached to the new church. So much love. Organization. Interaction. And most important, the hunger for Jesus. It was amazing. We are now, as of next week, going back to our old church to begin to put into practice what we have learned so far. However, we will still continue our mentorship for at least another 3 months before we have to leave Calvary Faith Center.

Life is full of unexpected surprises. I always think about my old friends from high school and definitely want to improve in reconnecting with them.... especially Jake, if he gives me the chance.

Love you all (if anyone still reads this).

Definitely need to remember to update this thing more often =)
