So this is pretty much last post before NaNoWriMo begins. I've decided to be a little more hardcore this year with how I'm going to approach the challenge since I don't get to start it on a weekend night. :( Oh well, here's my battle plan:
-Limit my social life. Yes, this is going to be tough because we have teacher's convention and Thanksgiving break this month but I need this time to write, write, write! Luckily, teacher's convention is this weekend, so I only have a three-day week and can get ahead early on.
-Write during school. This way I can just type up stuff when I get home. If I write during joke classes, free periods, lunch, and when I don't have to take notes during class, I can probably get anywhere between 500 and 1,000 words done at school. I need to write 1,667 words a day to stay on track.
-Get up earlier. This way I have some time to write in the morning. I'm only getting up 10 minutes earlier, but in 10 minutes I can probably write anywhere between 50 and 100 words. Those are words I definitely need.
-Work on this strict schedule: 1. Get up and start getting ready for school. 2. Write while eating breakfast. 3. Continue to get ready for school. 4. If I have time before my carpool comes, write some more. 5. Go to school and write some more. 6. Write during lunch. 7. Write during club/volunteer activities, if possible. 8. Go home. 9. Check Facebook, LiveJournal and Twitter QUICKLY (no Formspring and MyAnimeList this month) 9. Write for 30 minutes. 10. Do homework for one subject. 11. Write for 30 minutes. 12. Repeat 9-11 until homework is done. This cycle may be broken to watch 1 AND ONLY 1 episode of an anime (with the exception of Hetalia and Bleach). 13. Write during commercials and unimportant parts of TV shows (like DWTS clip packages) 14. Make lunch for next day. 15. Go to bed. 16. Repeat the cycle the next day.
-"Charles Dickens" descriptions and "Kyon" out thoughts. Basically, it means over describe everything and go off on tangents about random thoughts. Word buffering FTW. Also, write out all contractions and use "said" or some long variation of it when doing dialogue.
It's getting done, third year in a row. >:D
