Silly me opened my mouth during the discussion group that I went to today. One of the questions went something like "since our time is short, how do we view our day to day life?" Or something like that. I mentioned the saying "living like you were dying" similar to the song and one of the lady's started laughing and basically said "If you're talking about the song that's stupid, he was all into that worldly stuff."

Why do people quickly label things like rock-climbing, parasailing, diving, or any enjoyable activity as "worldy"? As if God doesn't have any part in any of those things because that's what non-Christians do? Is thouroughly enjoying hiking or rock-climbing any less spiritual then devoting hours of time to Bible reading or volunteering at the 4th of July Parade or anything else labeled spiritual?

Is my view of enjoyment of God's world really that different? What do you think makes parasailing so worldly?
