So my family's been bugging me for pictures, and this morning I finally bugged my roommate Gi (who is our Official Apartment Photographer and Historian) to let me steal some pictures off her computer. There is an unnatural preponderance of me in these pictures--but then, what can you expect? This year I seem to have become more photogenic then usual. *prods pictures* That's good, I think...
(And just so you know, Fi and the roommates who appear in these photos have all given their approval. The guys don't get a say. *snickers*)
The wonderful girls of Apartment 61, my beloved roommates! In order from left to right: Fi, Ci, Gi, me (Ki!), Mi, and Ni. Aren't we loverly?
The day of our infamous grocery-shopping debacle dawned bright and clear. Fi, Ci, Gi, Ci's brother Texas, and Gi's (then)soon-to-be-boyfriend Las Vegas all headed out to Wal-Mart in Mi's car Betsey. I accompanied them, of course! We had a wonderful time shopping and bought lots of groceries. But when we returned to the parking lot, we realized that although Mi had given Las Vegas the ignition and door keys when he borrowed the car, we'd neglected to obtain the key to the trunk! Thus began the Adventure Of Driving From Orem To Provo With A Car Full of Friends and Groceries! In order from left to right, that's Fi, Gi, and me (Ki!)
A month or so ago we learned the game of Silent Football. It's great fun just playing the game, but the penalties are lots of fun too. The loser (first to collect three 'strikes') has to pay a penalty of the other players' choice. Ours was for the loser to drink 1 tablespoon of lemon juice--and Brazil lost! From left to right, we see Las Vegas, Brazil (holding the tablespoon of lemon juice he's about to drink), Gi (kneeling on the floor), me (in the background, looking like I'm chewing on the bottle cap), Ni (holding the lemon juice bottle!), and Fi (also kneeling on the floor). The best part was that Brazil had a cold and sore throat, and the lemon juice seemed to help!
My birthday party was a lot of fun, and one of the best parts was when Brazil handed me a brown-paper-wrapped package. I opened it to find two packages of dried apricots (THE FOOD OF THE GODS!) and Volume 5 of Rurouni Kenshin. Hurrah! Obviously, from left to right that's Brazil, me, and the corner of my birthday cake. (Ignore our funny hair, please...)
Mi and her boyfriend Costa Rica obtained some plastic pirate cutlasses on one of their dates, which they brought home and courteously left for us to use. On the night of my birthday party, Korea and I decided to show off our Mad Skillz with the cutlass. Fi, Ci, and Brazil are on the couch in the background, but Korea and I very appropriately take center stage.
Home teachers are coming to visit in fifteen minutes, so I better go change into my church clothes. Choir practice next, then church, then home to make dinner! Hurrah!
And, oh--Happy Daylight Savings' Time, everyone!
