I'm such a geek.
Was sitting in the CB (Engineering Building) grading papers and listening to "Lullabye for a Stormy Night" before class when my attention was diverted from a disaster of sentence structure to a woman around the corner speaking on her cell phone.
I caught "arigatou" and "ja ne" before she hung up. And immediately felt so immensely proud of myself that I had to pull out my steno notebook (the writing one) and record this for your reading pleasure.
(Also on my way to take my editing exam I was walking in front of two girls talking, in Japanese, about their Japanese class--and I could identify it as Japanese without any of the English markers. Boo-yah for learning language by [incomplete] immersion.)
Maybe I'm just so bored by papers on metaphysical gardens that I'm extremely easily amused.
24 papers left. I can grade 6 an hour with no distractions. That's either 4 hours tonight, or 3 tonight and time snatched between classes tomorrow. I have 2 hours and 10 minutes of free time before I have to meet Dr. Keele and turn the papers over tomorrow, so I think I'll survive (if the metaphysical gardens don't slay me first.) I still have to take my New Testament exam online, but studying for and taking that exam shouldn't take any longer than an hour ('cause I study while I'm going along and I do my homework every day!) so maybe I can even go to FHE tonight. And get to bed at a decent hour. And even get online and give the lot of you a big hug!
Also,
iamzuul: Love. And hugs. And I'm praying for you.
