So the last two days have been very fun, if not very productive. Last night I returned from work to hang out for a little while before my older sister took me grocery shopping with her husband and baby. And Teh Buglet is cutting her first tooth! When we returned,
cieloan started making calzones and I started talking to people, and then
tiarna_bronach and
beloved_baka came over, and we sang karaoke and drank hot chocolate and watched 1-4 of Rurouni Kenshin and talked. We also phoneposted, which convinced you all that we are weird like whoa.
I got to sleep about 2:30, got up this morning shortly after eight. Talked to people, cleaned, waited for the cleaning check lady to come so I could shower...which meant that by the time I could, I had approximately 15 minutes before it was time to go. Quick shower and no makeup, whoa! Usually I hate going out in public without makeup, but somehow today was okay. Ci and Fi and Ti and Bel and I all met up to see Memoirs of a Geisha, which was very pretty and a very good movie. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
...Except Bel and Ti and I couldn't help but think of Makaze/Kinsha all through Sayuri's scenes with the Chairman, and I still swear that if Nobu's scar had been on the other side of his face, he could have passed for Raidou at 50. Also I've decided that as well as her giant fan, Kinsha uses small iron fans (tessen?) for closer quarters, or when she can't really afford to shred everything in the vicinity into tiny bits.
Shut up. I so can invent things about her as long as I'm NPCing her.
After the movie we went to a Japanese restaurant, Asuka, for lunch. It was my big splurge of the semester: I had tempura udon and miso soup, and got sushi and gyoza as appetizers to share. The sushi was amazingly good. I had salmon and...something else that was bright red, but I'm not sure what it was. Truly excellent. And I have learnt to wield chopsticks with great dexterity!
Ti's over here now promising to make us her Chocolate Cake of Chocolately Doom, and I have to grade papers and not fall asleep. Maybe I shall be on later tonight, if the papers don't eat me first.
