The Litany is not a list of friendly suggestions. The Litany is a list of sacred laws that the Garou believe come from Gaia herself. While there is a tiny bit of leeway for interpretation of one or two of the rules, breaking them is a Very Bad Thing.
So, dear player, when your character manages to do so twice in the course of a single game session, don't be surprised when she gets in shit for it. Or when her pack, the members of which are almost entirely from the more conservative tribes, is less than sympathetic.
I am hoping you meant it when you stormed away from the table vowing you wouldn't come back because we were all 'rules nazis'.
And by the way, no, the Black Spiral Dancers are not 'just misunderstood'.
