Backing up your hard drive onto another computer on a shitty network is possibly the single most ridiculously dull part of moving out. SIGH. I've attempted to gut out my room, but everything's just been moved out of drawers onto the floor. I'm scared to empty my bottom drawer of books in case someone gives them to charity :( Those Mr Men and Roald Dahl books are my life!

People keep phoning my house and it keeps not being the manager from River Island in Stirling. This is beginning to worry me somewhat. I don't even know why. I went into Stirling on Tuesday with Michael and spoke to her, so she's put my name down for a 4-hour contract for Thursday evenings (late night shopping innit), which is perfect for me right now. She offered me some sort of replenishment thing for Saturdays but I don't think the time of the shift is good for me if I'm coming back to Glasgow at various points. Anyway, she said she'll phone me and I told her I'd speak to my manager here, so we'll see what happens. I really hope I get the Thursdays for starters, then I could arrange overtime or something.

Tuesday was great! We had a look round town in Stirling, went bowling and had dinner. Stirling is a lot nicer than my sister had made it out to be. I think I'll like it, at least enough to keep me there for the forseeable future. A year in halls shouldn't be too bad. We also wandered around the campus for a bit. The lecture theatres look suaaaave as fuck. Walking home we discovered that my aunt actually lives, like, round the corner from Michael's dad, so we dropped in for a bit.

Oh, I got my leaver's form signed by the way. Niiiice. I'm no longer a Bannerman pupil. I'm not sure how I feel about this. Mrs Roberts is going to try to put an appeal in for me for history, which is nice.

Picked my subjects for uni yesterday. I really have to get passport photos and send my forms away. I'm taking 3 subjects, and had to put them into order of preference, so I've got:
Film & Media (pre-entered, so that's definitely my first)
English Studies (Reader/Author/Text module)
History (People, Politics and Empire 1780-1914)
Introductiory Psychology I
Linguistics (Language & Society)
Sociology (Social Differentiation)

So hopefully that means I'll be doing English and History along with Film and Media. Cool.

I suppose I should really get back to clearing out while all this rubbish transfers onto the new computer. I should really just get boxes for what I'm taking and a binbag for anything else I come across. Wish me luck :/

Je dois partir maintenant parce que ma grand-mère est flambée...
