Invitation to my last concert with the A2 Concert Band - this Sunday, January 17

Jan 13, 2010 00:36

I'd like to invite you to my final concert with the Ann Arbor Concert Band, which will be this Sunday, January 17, at 2pm at the Michigan Theater. It'll be a very special concert not just because it's my last - we're playing some truly phenomenal pieces. Sadly, due to my class schedule and my plans for physician assistant school in the fall, I'm having to put Band on hold. Assuming *knock wood* I get into a PA program, I will be away at school starting in the fall (let me know if you know anyone interested in subletting my gorgeous 2 bedroom upper flat at Great Oak Cohousing). I have two PA school interviews scheduled, and hopefully should know where/if I'll be attending by March/April. :)

Featuring:

Noisy Wheels of Joy -- Eric Whitacre

Armenian Dances -- Alfred Reed

Tuba Concerto -- Edward Gregson
II. Lento e mesto
III. Allegro giocoso
~ Fritz Kaenzig, soloist
Professor of Tuba and Euphonium, University of Michigan

Incantation and Dance -- John Barnes Chance

Elegy -- John Barnes Chance

Esprit de Corps -- Robert Jager

Russian Christmas Music -- Alfred Reed
