FRIDGE!!!!
It has arrived.
More than arrived, really. The delivery guys set it up, and I've washed it, dried it, and moved all the food from the coolers into the fridge itself.
I am ridiculously excited about it. It's 4 cubic feet bigger than our old one (which will hopefully cut down on how often I have to play tetris after big grocery trips), has the freezer on the bottom, and made of stainless steel. On top of that, the stainless steel version was on sale, so we paid the exact same amount we would have for the same model in black or white--plus an additional 10% savings because of the sale Home Depot was running at the time. Which is awesome, because as much as I like the stainless steel look, we were not about to pay several hundred dollars more to make it prettier.
There are several significant changes already. Although the fridge sticks out about an inch or so further than our old one, we no longer have to worry about being unable to open the fridge or oven door while the other is open. Because the freezer's on the bottom, the fridge door almost complete misses the oven door; there's one spot where they collide (I HAD TO TEST! FOR SCIENCE!) but it's doubtful they'd ever be open to that exact angle at the same time again. Also, it's much, much quieter than the old fridge. And it doesn't shake as much. I'm not sure if the cats will display the same amount of affection for this fridge as they did the last--it no longer sounds and feels like a giant, asthmatic, purring cat.
Dork as I am, I've taken a few pictures of the fridge, but haven't uploaded them yet. Mostly because I want shogunhb's first look at the fridge to be in person. He'd just as excited. Yay!
