Fantastic Friday

murnkay asked folks who read his blog to post about something fantastic in their lives. Since my life is going really, really well right now, I figured I should comply. A lot of times I'm so busy bitching about stuff in my LJ that I forget to include everything that happens to me that's wonderful. And that's kind of a shame.
So, sure, later on I might post whining about something, but this is one post completely devoted to the positive. You should do this, too. If nothing else, it makes you feel good.
*I have the best husband in the world(tm). I'm constantly surprised by his consideration and caring. He's recently created a new rule: every night before bed, I get a back massage for at least a few minutes. Why? "Because we get so busy during the day, sometimes we forget how important it is to spend time together. There's no reason that I can't put sleep off for another five minutes to give my wife a back massage." A few weeks ago he left the house early to go pick up my meds before he had to leave for work and decided randomly to stop and buy me my favorite McDonald's breakfast (the only good meal they serve). Why? Because I'd just gotten out of the hospital, I was feeling pretty bummed, and he knew it would be a nice surprise for me.
And he does stuff like that all the time.
I could go on enumerating his other sterling qualities, but then I'd never get to the other fabulous things in my life. So, trust me, shogunhb wins at everything forever.
*Speaking of "best in the world," my bestest friend also fits that description. It's like I bought a set or something. He's funny, he's charming, and he's brilliant as all hell. He'll give you the shirt off his back with nothing more than an apology that it doesn't match your socks. He constantly goes out of his way to make people happy, me especially. He's my rock, the one person I've been able to depend on without fail for years. He keeps me honest (a full-time job in and of itself), and I know that no matter what happens, he'll be there to catch me when I fall, and set me back on my feet--probably with a blistering lecture about how I'm supposed to be smart enough to know better.
If it hadn't been for ddrpolaris, I wouldn't be the person you know. Hell, you probably wouldn't know me, because I'd still be the petty, selfish bitch I was through much of high school. Being a decent person is an uphill battle for me even now, and it was Toph who started me on that track and kept me on it. I can't thank him enough for all the things he's done for me.
*I get to do the things I love. August through April I spend my days learning; May through July I spend my days writing. I have wonderful friends who game with me, watch movies with me, laugh with me... It's just great.
*I'm the Maid of Honor in the wedding of one of my closest friends. I still get excited and kind of misty-eyed when I think of how wonderful quish and purple_dj are together. I'm incredibly grateful that they're willing to let me share in their special day. Seriously, I don't think either of you know just how happy you make me.
*You guys. You impress, encourage, excite, and amaze me all the damn time. You make me laugh, you keep me sane, you introduce me to ideas that I never would have discovered on my own. Thanks.
There are a thousand more things I could add to this post, but I think I'll end it here.
