Character Ideas
Here some ideas for side characters, let me know what you think:
1.) Dionysios (Dion)
Dion's great-grandmother was a Siren who moved to Nashville in the 19th century during the big riverboat boom. She would sing in the taverns and later the clubs on the Mississippi luring away the sailors and drowning. Unfortunately, one of the "sailors" she seduced turned out to be some form of hunter and was doing a good job fighting back until Dion's great grandfather intervened and saved her. Although popular myth has the Sirens as female, they can be of either gender and Dion possesses some of their powers. He currently attends music school at Belmont University, and plays at the clubs. He know something of his heritage, but his powers are very reflexive and only come out if he is very into his music, lost to the world. His parents have taken great pains to keep him away from the water in which his Siren Heritage would manifest more fully.
2.) Luther Penn
Luther's story technically began over a thousand years ago, but his modern story really begins when his girlfriend, Morgan, convinces him to come with her to an SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) fighter training. Luther was a member of their high school's varsity track team, and Morgan thought that he would enjoy the event. Luther was a natural with the sword and shield, he instinctively knew how to move to take advantage of his opponent. This was not bizarre in and of itself, but at their first event, when Luther was in the Melee, he was suddenly found himself standing on an open field with men in real armor wielding real swords. The faces were those of his SCA mates, but the battle was something out of history. Luther Penn is the reincarnation of Uther Penndraegon.
