Life has been interesting as of late ... as of late being since December of last year, to be frank. With an extra amp in January and then life just has not gotten off that roller coaster ride since.
In all fairness, I must point out that there has been alot of "OH MY GODDESS" good on that roller coaster ride with several side trips of "WHAT THE FUCK" weird, and more than a few loops of "****" bad to boot.
Connections to the PTB, revamped back in ... March? February ... ack. Somewhere in there, the same night that I had one lens pop out of my glasses in the middle of an outdoor ritual wherein the snow that was nowhere to be seen earlier in the day decided to land on us right as we begun. So, by the time I noticed (milliseconds later) that it was missing, it was already gone. Price I pay for being reminded that when there's only one set of footprints, that doesn't mean they were mine. Sometimes, I'm stupid. Goddess knows why Athena puts up with me sometimes.
ANYway. For those who have not been around me in person for awhile, I've been dating a beautiful woman. (She doesn't see herself as such, but she's doing much better at not immediately denying the nice things I have to say about her.) We've been together almost five months now, with Robert adding himself into the picture in her case a little over a month later. Anyway, she lives with us now. I told my grandmother about her about a month ago in email and she wants to meet her. Let me tell you, that was a hard email to write. But I did it. I haven't seen her in person since, but I expect that she loves me and trusts who I am enough to know that this relationship was not entered into lightly. Anyway, for those of you who have been reading for awhile, you may have seen one or two mentions in the fall last year of Kat and/or Haven. These names belong to the same person and did I mention I'm head over heels for her, yet? I am. Oh, good goddess, I am. If I get permission from her, I'll see about posting a pic or two under f-lock for the curious.
Robert and I have been going steady through all of this and our marriage continues to be full of its own set of challenges, but whose isn't? We love each other very much and having Kat around just amplifies it for me every day. (Oh boy, I sound like one of those sappy Poly poster children, don't I?)
We're both working part-time to keep care of Alanna and the roof over the head thing taken care of ... as a result, things have gotten tight and the landlord has had her own ups and downs. (If anyone knows someone who wants to buy the house and be a landlord to us, feel free to let me know ... they're looking to unload the responsibility to someone else. And it could be that someone in a better position would be able to get a better rate on the house.)
Erm, I'm not sure off the top of my head if there's anything else majorly pertinent going on. For those in the Potter fandom that are curious, Christina has talked me into doing Portus down in Texas. For all that Chicago sounds fun, I'll be in state with the sci-fi WorldCon during that week already ... so no double-booking for me. But in July, I'll be down in Texas at Portus with Christina and Kat.
Much love to all ... Djin, Mere, Glock, I really do miss you ladies more than a gal should. I'll probably be around more on LJ in the future than I had been, I just had to cool down from the net for awhile. Y'know?
