"This movie has too much penis."

Mar 08, 2009 08:01

Haven't updated in a minute. Let's see, what have I been up to (besides backsliding and trying to get back on course, life-wise).

Well, me and Kay went to see Watchmen early on Friday.

This is a spoiler cut for yet another Watchmen movie post. )

[I AM SO SORRY, I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS GONG TO BE THIS LONG. Feel free to label the whole thing as tl;dr]

- The Handshake! I was so worried they were going to mess it up somehow[I don't know how, but somehow], and they DIDN'T, they made it perfect, that entire scene was just very well done overall. I was a little disappointed it wasn't at the bottom of the skanky Hudson, but we got the lovely profile view of Rorschach sitting on the steps of Archie as compensation[aaand that's how you know you're a crazy Rorschach fangirl, when him just sitting somewhere makes you stupidly happy]. Also, it kind of bugged me that the Dan/Laurie handholding thing wasn't there, because, you know, obviously that's needed as a frame of reference tot ell you that holding hands overly long is a sign of unresolved sexual tension in Watchmen World. *tinhats*

- I so wanted the hoverbikes! Because of course, of COURSE Dan's made hoverbikes. But no, of course they land reasonably close to Karnak[ignoring, of course, that they'd be frozen solid even walking that distance ANYWAY; I don't care how tough Rorschach is, he is not immune to hypothermia, dammit!], so they don't bring out the hoverbikes. Sadmaking.

- Ohh, the sex scene. Ugh. Just, ugh. Waaay too graphic. [Also, I would totally, TOTALLY watch a six hour Watchmen movie XD]

- AHAHA, OH MY GOD, WHAT ARE THOSE AND WHERE DO I GET THEM.

[Lol, no worries.]

-YES!! I really liked how they did that. That was such a great shot. My favorite of the movie, I think. When Rorschach hops off of the steps and we get that akwardness. Love it.
Haha. *joins you in tinhating*

-Nite Owl may have been ok in his kickass snow owl suit. Apparently Rorschach is kept warm by his burning desire for justice?

random thought - How sad is it that Blake's apartment is full of pictures of Sally and Laurie. God.
*talk show host voice*: "What would you say if we told you that we have your real father right here in the studio today? Reunion!

I know you're a fan, so here, have more of teeny tiny waist having Rorschach - or Walter, in this case.

- I really want to know what people who haven't read the book thought was going to happen in that scene, because even to me, when Rorschach stepped up behind Dan it kind of looked like he was about to punch him. Something in the way he was holding himself, which says a lot about his character right there, and I'm really glad that the awkwardness came across.

- LMAO. I guess so, because that worn out trenchcoat and scarf are not keeping him all that warm.

That was horrifically depressing. I've always kind of found that whole thing heart-wrenching, and I was a little miffed that they cut out the thing with Laurie's mother kissing the picture at the end, because that's just. Ouch.

Eee, lookit his teeny waaaiiist! *flails* The belt totally does not help[or does, depending on how you look at it :D].

*nods* Definitely. I want to go watch it again because I just know I'll notice a lot that I didn't notice the first time around.

-Yeah, that was just. Painful.

Ha, thought you might enjoy this, if you haven't seen it already.

Further proof on the 'walter kovacs isn't ugly' front: hmm.
I don't know. I know we're supposed to think he's horrifyingly ugly, but he just looks like a normal guy to me. :/ But then again, I suppose there's a difference between hollywood ugly and regular ugly. (But book!Walter wasn't that ugly either. Aagh, I am seriously talking in circles here. Don't mind me. xD)

SO THIS IS TOTALLY OFF TOPIC AND NOT AT ALL WATCHMEN-RELATED, BUT I NOTICED YOU ARE ON rahmbamarama.

WHAT THE HELL, WHY DON'T YOU TELL ME ABOUT THESE THINGS INSTEAD OF LEAVING ME TO FIND THEM MYSELF?

OH GOD I'M GETTING INTO POLITIFIC. HALP.

Haha, you must forgive me, bb. BUT ISN'T IT GREAT? DON'T FIGHT IT. It's not even my thing usually (like, at all) but it's just so - fun. Hilarious. Laidback. (ha, irony: srs bsns politics has most laidback fandom ever). I think it's one of the only wank free fandoms I have encountered. IT PUULLLSS YOU IN.

But now that you have been corrupted I can share links! Mwhahaha. Rahm Emmanuel: resident BAMF. I'm tempted to make a Chuck Norris list featuring Rahm and Watchmen but I'm blanking, lol.

It's insane and I LOVE IT. Have you seen the steampunk drawings someone's done of 3/4ths of the PRT[no Anderson yet :(] and Rachel and Rahm? They're AMAAAZING. I want more so bad. [Also, apparently there's two artists doing steampunk stuff, but I like these better, so. :D]

I am also looking into whatever mafia!verse is fairly soon. Not right now, because I have to go to school, but soon XD

Oh my god, it's so awesome and I want her[?] to always be drawing steampundits[as they've been dubbed]. Just, forever and ever. And I want steampundit fic. There's, like, snippets, but nothing huge. Probably, I would kill someone for steampundit fic.

Aagh, I just tried to get to mafia!verse and it's friendlocked[which is understandable, but :/-causing on my end]. *stresses and frets* So I s'pose I'm off to comment on her FO post, then.
