last night

me and all my buddies were tearing up with Reverend Jesse Jackson and a helluva lotta others last night; definitely an unprecedented feeling when it comes to politics in addition to the unprecedented historical nature of the victory. It was fantastic coming home from voting and eating pizza with my dad, with Obama already up to 170 with McCain at a weak sixty-something, and this was AFTER most of the South-East was projected by CNN. Evan was already drunk, either off of liquor or the sheer excitement of Obama turning the states blue.

I didn't get too emotional till the end, when Obama was done with the speech and you could see underneath the Earth-shaking orator a kid that paid his dues pondering how many he'd taken along for the journey his gifts granted him. He left the joyousness to his supporters, who are just responsible for this change we crave as he is. As moved as anyone could tell he was, Obama chose resolve. Staying solid when you are in an emotional state so intense that you could melt into the arms of your followers, that is leadership.

I can't really sum it up that well, but I WAS moved and it was the best night I've ever had watching CNN by a lightyear.
