Time's a wastin...
Recently I've been overcome by an absurd urge to do every single meme I come across. Actually, no, that's a lie. A big fat lie. I didn't merely "come across" all of these. No, I actively sought them out, searching all over LJ for more self indulgent questionnaires that would hold my attention well enough to offer up a proper service of procrastination. That is how desperate I've been to ignore the more pressing (and annoyingly boring) chores that life keeps insisting on presenting to me. Call this company! Book that appointment! Read your course material! Erm... no thanks? I'd much rather answer some stupid questions about myself.
What follows includes a lot of utterly pointless questions about life, music and the drinking requirements of fish. Plus some pictures of a man dressed as a wizard.

1. Where do you live? City? Country? Suburb? Suburb of London.
2. How big is it, population-wise? Er, the town I live in (Wallington) itself isn't very big, but it's surrounded very closely by lots of other towns which make up lots of different boroughs which make up the very big city of London. So, pretty big, I guess.
3. Did you grow up there? Yes.
4. What are the people like there? Your average outer London types really.
5. If you are in the country, have you ever lived in the city? Visited a big city? NA
6. What do you like LEAST about where you live now? ...Idk, I'm quite content with where I live. All the things that I would say I dislike, I actually kind of enjoy. Because they're all the expected annoyances that occur in suburban Britain, and I take some sort of perverted comfort in that.
7. What do you like MOST? Being so close to London. Oh, and lest I forget, The Wizard Man, of course. Wallington and the borough of Sutton has had its fair share of local... shall we call them extraverts, to be sure. There was Jesus Man, who prayed to the 127 bus and gave money to kids (he also once bought me a hot chocolate on a mental ward, but lets put that to the side...). And then there was the Karate Man, who would walk around the streets practising his ninja moves. But Wizard Man trumps them all, indefinitely. Though he has never bought me a crap hot chocolate on a mental ward, he does have the most amazing fashion sense ever. And a silver beard to boot. Here are some pictures; his awesomeness cannot be accurately conveyed without photographic evidence.
This is an unusual one, he's normally seen in his purple attire, but here you can see how brilliant his staff is. So not an innuendo!
The Wizard Man has a dog that follows him around basically everywhere.
And this cat, which normally sits obediently on his shoulder (see first picture). There's a photo on facebook of a group of my friends all jammed into a bus, with the Wizard Man taking pride of place in the centre, and in this picture he has two (TWO!) cats. One on each shoulder. Amazing. He must have seriously impressive balance and posture. Alas, I have only ever seen him with one.
8. Would you ever consider moving somewhere else? where? Despite the Wizard Man and all the wonders he brings to Wallington, I would totally consider moving somewhere else.
9. Do you PLAN to move somewhere else? If so, where and why? I do plan on moving, though I don't really know when it will happen. I'd like to live in more central London for a few years during my mid 20's, I think. And when I hit my mid life crisis I'll probably move to the countryside to escape the ghosts of my misspent youth gallivanting through the streets of London. Or not.
10. If not but you want to, what is holding you back? I would move right now, had I some money to do so.

Does it bother you when your friends bring up your past mistakes? I'm still living with my past mistakes, and its good practise of mine to ignore them. So yeah, it does irk me a little. Do not remind me of reality, people!

Do you like winter time? I love winter time.
What was the last movie you saw? I watched Edward Scissorhands again last night. That film gets better with every viewing.
Did you ever lose a best friend? I have stopped being best friends with people, but I think the question is asking if a best friend has ever died. In which case, no. And if it is literally asking if I've ever like, actually lost a friend, as in misplaced, then, of course, constantly.
Who is the first girl you’d go to if there was something wrong? Emma.
Do you believe that if you want something bad enough you’ll get it? I believe that there are some people who manage to achieve whatever they want, regardless of whether others see them as deserving. So I believe that it’s possible, but I think it takes a certain kind of person, and I don't think I am that kind of person.
Do you like to cuddle? Erm... sometimes I really don't. But other times I really do.
Are you ticklish? Nope.
Last time you had butterflies in your stomach? ...am I supposed to remember this? Because I don't.
What’s the best feeling in the world? Experiencing a live band with a room full strangers. That feeling of being utterly connected to a ton of people you otherwise know nothing about for however long the band are on stage, simply because you all have an emotional response to a few particular chords and melodies, played in a few particular ways.
Can you play guitar hero? I can play it, but not especially well.
How’s your heart lately? ...I think its doing ok. Still beating, anyway. And what more can I ask?
Are you a jealous person? I can be.
Any plans for tomorrow? Try to wake up in the AM.

What was one thing you always loved at parks when you were little? I've always loved parks at the tail end of the year. When everyone is huddled up in their woollies and breathing out little clouds of steam.
Would you rather be called hot, cute, or beautiful? Erm, beautiful I guess, but that takes a pretty big stretch of the imagination.
What’s the last thing you laughed really hard over? An advert on TV for ginger ale. Found myself laughing almost hysterically, and then couldn't remember why.

Last night, did you go to sleep smiling? No. I fell asleep on a newspaper and woke up with half of an article printed on my back.
Any summer plans for 2009? Many plans for summer 2009, yes, I can't wait.

Were you happy when you woke up today? I was not, because I was woken up by my phone shrieking impatiently at me.

If you could go back in time, how far back would you go? Maybe to the 50's, so I could watch how popular music has developed over the last 60 years. But maybe not, because then by the time the noughties came back around I'd be to old and frail to see some of my favourite current bands. So maybe just to the 70's. Easy answer.

When I was trying to help set up a gig to raise money for local climate change projects (whilst I was in sixth form), I went to see The Thirst with Emma to see if they would play at the gig, and was on their guest list. And I've been on friend's bands guest lists as well, I guess.
