I found two more websites my prof hasn't seen before; he's enjoying the fruits of my research almost as much as I am.
And in historical linguistics today, we had an exceedingly difficult proto-new guinea language reconstruction, including something that stumped the professor. Toward the end of the class, something in the data just clicked with me, and I came up with a solution that fit all the parameters. What a wonderful feeling!
It shows me that I've made the right choice, in abandoning my full-time job to pursue university studies. Very intellectually satisfying, in a world where I'm living paycheque-to-paycheque to survive. One and a half more years of part-time studies, then a year of full-time studies, and I'll be an elementary school teacher. The end result is worth the long, long haul... but I miss being able to buy as many things as I used to.
Now, it's back to studying for those two pesky midterms this week...
