Well it’s good to know the equipment still works

So I fell in love Saturday, and damn does it feel good. I wasn’t expecting it. Haven’t really had a boy crush since Ryan. But here I was sitting in Ruby’s Dinner, when my future husband approached the table and took our order. He was amazing, he joked with us, brought us Yo Yo’s and was just an all around swell guy. That night I couldn’t stop thinking about him, so Brian, Kala, and I went back to Ruby’s the next night. This time our server was Mario (Shawn was serving other booths.) Toward the end of the night Mario asks if there’s anything else we’d like.

I tell him, “Mario I’ve gotta ask you something, and I’m not very proud about it.”
Mario, “Um okay”
Karen, “Does Shawn have a girlfriend?”
M, “Nope.”
K,” um..is he straight?”
M, “Yeah.”
K, “okay… thanks”

Meanwhile Kala is drawing a comic on her children’s place mat showing me proposing marriage to Shawn… it also featured my email in the corner… epp

Then Shawn comes over and gives us all free hot chocolate! My face was completely red from blushing. Then Ruby’s closed and the three of us hung around and talked to Mario, cause Shawn was busy. Mario gave me a rose made out of napkins, he said Shawn told him to make it for me…We waited a long time, but then we had to leave cause we all wanted to go into the hot tub and it closed at 10pm. I wave goodbye to Shawn and he said we should all come back soon….

Well this is all great right? I’ll just go down to Ruby’s and continue to flirt with Mr. Shawn… but there’s one problem. Shawn works at Ruby’s in Yorba Linda. The only reason Kala and I were down there was to go to a party and pick up a SNES. To visit Shawn and Ruby’s Dinner requires a three and a half hour drive on my part. Doh!

Anyway, I’m hoping I didn’t scare Mr Shawn. When I left the first night I told him I wanted to have his children… I don’t suppose that is the best pick up line… He did say they would be pretty attractive children though. I dunno if Kala’s placemat made it to him, but I figure children and marriage proposals from a stranger isn’t necessarily normal. If I do go down again I’m bringing a business card.

It’s just nice to know I can still go all girlie over a guy. I just wish I’d fallen for a guy in my zip code.
