A friend needs help.
This is not for me, for once, this is about another LJ friend, not_from_stars, who has a housemate who "defaulted" on paying their heating bill, and is already having health issues because of an unheated home. Her daughter and cat are affected as well. I have no PayPal account, so I'm still trying to figure out how to contribute with the old-fashioned, non-electronic money that I have, but if you can, in any way, spare anything to help out, look at it as good karma accrual, look at it as just basically being human, and helping someone really in need, she's living in an area that badly needs heat, so that the three members of the family in health jeopardy (mother, daughter and kitty) do not end up sicker than they already are, look at it any way that will help you help someone who is in desperate need because of the irresponsibility and stupidity of a housemate who was supposed to handle the heating bill.
Even a little bit will help.
