Interesting research on Progeria and aging

May 19, 2006 13:49

From an email list archive I'm slowly catching up on:

Looks like this group is doing some very interesting work in the area of Progeria (basically these are premature aging diseases), with possible knock-on consequences for (anti-)aging in general...

email containing long series of excerpts on relevant papers )

Did I send you those details about the CR communities and lists in the end? If not, and you want them, let me know and I'll forward you the details.

Hmm, no, don't think you did.

I'd be happy to have the details if it is easy enough to do. My primary interest in CR is probably more from the point of view of longevity and anti-aging in general, but it would still be good to have the links in case I ever dive deeper into it.

Ah - here they are:

cr@lists.calorierestriction.org
CRsupportgroup@yahoogroups.com

Despite the second one being a Yahoo group, it's actually very good.

Both lists get a fair amount of traffic, so you might want to create filters for them.

The content on both is excellent - they're not chat groups by any stretch of the imagination.

I hope they're useful. I find the whole topic really interesting.

I actually have some of Roy Walford's books on the topic of CR at home, if you're interested. If you want, let me know and remind me to bring them for you to the next Yum Cha if you can make it there! We've also got a book at home that I think is yours - the Worm Ouroboros?

Which reminds me, we need to organise another one...I feel the need for green veggies!
