Ugh! Am home. Muchly tired. Left for GenCon in Indy last tuesday, due to having help a friend with a wedding rehersal (he proposed at GenCon, and got married at GenCon!!!! Gamers are awesome!). GenCon helped him out a lot with his wedding.
Had a lot of good times, had some bad incidents.
I am never taking my computer on another outing again. Ok, I lie. But this is the second time I've gone somewhere (in a row!) and my damn laptop has croaked. *sigh* Thank those that be for service plans.
We had some of the most kick ass people turn out to play the in the campaign. I was kinda worried, as I have had bad experiences with the CCG crowd (and they descended upon us in DROVES I tell you, DROVES!). But we only had one small incident of bad ccg'ers (guys, come on, if you show up with Rank 3 characters, with no enemies or allies on your sheet, you haven't been playing the game). Other then that, they were AWESOME!
And AEG even let me do a reading of their fiction at the seminar (after my voice went to hell after judging). I was told that the deep, gravelly, rasp I did for the Scorpion Sensei was very cool.
And I have to say, the CCG'ers are nuts. I love them, but nuts. I met a lady from South Africa who came to play (awesome roleplayer). A nice couple from Ireland. Another from England. All that way to play a game. I guess I understand, but damn. Heh.
I did manage to spend some time in the dealers hall. Only slightly lighter wallet then when I entered.
All in all, it was a great time.
And to think, I'm going to DragonCon in two weeks.
I'm gonna be so dead on my feet.
