Good weekend back at my parents’ place, got all my cards and stuff back so I can get at my money again.
Saw Van Helsing Saturday afternoon. It is a truly terrible film that I thoroughly enjoyed. The cliché count goes through the roof in the first few minutes, and its all downhill from there. Kate Beckinsale is definitely working on becoming the fetish-wear queen of Hollywood, I think some of the adolescent boys in the audience will have been trying to hide the stains on their trousers all the way home. The steam-punk production design is uniformly excellent too, by far the best bit of the movie (beware the evil Umpa-Loompas).
Anyway, I’m getting a cold now and supposed to be at work, so time to go.
