So, The Beast with William Peterson came on Sci-Fi. Save us from the giant squid, Gris! A bigger threat than Jaws, I tell you! Seriously, this film was so bad it hurt, but you know what? I watched the whole last half of it. Interestingly enough, the blonde girlfriend from ep 2x01, "Burked," co-starred with Grissom in The Beast! Except here she had red hair, but she was quite recognizable. It must have been amusing for them to work together some years later on CSI. Also in The Beast was Oscar from The Untouchables, who's now in Da Vinci's City Hall. I had the sound down and was listening to music, but my mother was keeping up with the lame dialogue.
She said," They only brought two tranquilizer things, and that's not going to knock him out for long."
"Doofus," I responded.
"You know it's lame when I can keep up with exactly what's going on in this without needing to hear the words."
The squid gets a hold of William Peterson's leg. My mother cried, "Come on, Grissom!"
And then the squid is set on fire. "Unagi!" she exclaimed.
Now, on to Grissom actually being Grissom. I loved the comeback of the 'felony stupid' girls. They should bring them up every once in awhile, just for kicks. Also hold much love for the subtle Gil/Conrad vibes. They had a talk. ::nods:: I think the one thing that rubbed me the wrong way a bit was the slight hostility, or at least irritation, Grissom had with Greg. Maybe it was just me. I do agree with
allhoneyboo's
post about the odd similarities between that ep (CSI + the occult + Greg in the know + Grissom) and
amireal's fic,
Electron Bonding. I loved that fic more this episode, except the ep had HODGES IN A SUIT.
Warrick: Tight suit, baby.
Hodges: Actually, it's not. I only gained a couple of pounds...
Warrick: No, I mean it looks good on you.
Hodges (smug): Why, thank you, Warrick.
And going to the budget meeting with Conrad. I love how he insists on calling Ecklie by his first name as though they're the bestest of friends. Hodges is so awesome, 'requesting funds for you slackers,' ' fine crimefighting,' 'courtesy of your trace lab.' And he looks so dapper in his suit. ICONS, SCREENCAPS, ANYTHING, please!
Gil's 'wha-?' when the starlet signs his notepad cracked me up.
Have you noticed how a lot of the craziest stuff happens and weird people come from Henderson, throughout this series? I'm not going to go through all the scripts, but they must have mentioned Henderson a million times. Poor Henderson, Nevada is getting a bad name.
The Much-Awaited Return of the Straw Hat. Just FYI, they were digging in the Sepulveda Basin. Nice place, as there's a lovely park with a lake in the middle.
I had a dream last night. It was me/Grissom, a shameless self-insert, but I swear I wasn't a Mary Sue! It all sounds a bit boring if I write it out, so I won't share, but I assure you it was entirely PG. I'm not sure whether I should be relieved or disappointed about that, though.
copperbadge wrote House/Harry Potter this week. OMG, it's a
Challenge [Rated G].
Well,
this is certainly more fodder for the figure skating RPS fans, particularly the Johnny Weir/Evan Lysacek fans. And
this certainly doesn't hurt, either
