Is House any better this season?
Justified casting news!!!! Very pleased with this.
Chuck guest-starring news that I'm also very pleased with.
The fabulous combination of
Christina Hendricks and Jack Huston [Boardwalk Empire] in Harper's Bazaar's Age of Scorsese: The Photos, with an
interview with CH and JH on-set of the shoot, and
the rest of the pics in the shoot, which includes two more Boardwalk Empire actors.
Speaking of Boardwalk Empire, loving the new season, especially this, which makes me laugh every time:
Also, that guy should have known better than to mess with Chalky White.
I feel sorry for everyone this show. Everyone is such a mess. Except the Commodore. I wish he would DIAF.
Love that there's more Mr. Harrow this season, and more Chalky and Capone and Lucky and Rothstein and Meyer Lansky and Eli. All my favs. And I love how so many of the characters are conflicted about this or that.
Janelle Monáe in Essense Magazine. Love the last two pics.
Watched the
trailer for The Avengers a bazillion times with my mom. She kept saying, "AGAIN!" My assessment? I SHIP EVERYONE. Love all the gifs coming out of Tumblr, like
these and
this. The night before the trailer came out, I actually had an Avengers-type dream, only it was more like Black Widow Saves the Day with her Able Assistant Hawkeye, While Tony Stark is Snarky and Nick Fury is Annoyed, Steve and Thor Help, and Whoops, I Forgot the Hulk, which is weird because my aunt is an acquaintance. In conclusion:
You won't like me when I'm angry...
My grandmother is so hardcore. She revealed to us this evening that she recently had to kick a guy in the groin in the Bristol Farms parking lot. It's so strange because it was around 7am in Westwood and it was a clean-cut white guy in khakis and a polo shirt driving a tidy sedan. Anyway, he was continuously hitting the side of her car with his car door, which she asked him to not do because there was enough room for everyone, and he not only threatened to do it to her (ie. hit her), he also got on her case for having a large SUV, implying she couldn't handle it (which is ridiculous because she can drive anything and prefers big cars because she feels safer in them), and called her some mean names. He took a step towards her, and she warned him loudly to leave her alone (so the nearby Bristol Farms workers who were chatting near the loading area could hear and come to help), and when he didn't back off, she gave him a hard kick where it hurt. He fell into his open driver's door onto the seat, and she slammed his door closed after him, and angrily banged her fist on his hood, leaving a dent! The self-defense course she took certainly helped! A friend of hers who used to be a sheriff and now owns a security company is also encouraging her to take firearms training, and she's seriously considering it. One reason I like watching Harry's Law is because Kathy Bates reminds me so much of my grandmother.
