The main feature in this month's Los Angeles Times Magazine is a spread of young talent. I'm happy my issue came with Eddie Redmayne on the cover! Is he not lovely? It also includes beautiful photos of Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston and Kings & Captain America's Sebastian Stan. Dennis Hopper's son looks just like him, but I honestly can't see much of a resemblance between Max Irons and his father Jeremy.
Variety says Southland is "likely" to be renewed. Oh, I hope so!
The 25th Anniversary Concert for Les Misérables aired on PBS this evening. The 10th Anniversary cast will always be my favorite, but I thought this was a very nice production, and they had two holdovers from the 10th Anniversary: Lea Salonga and Jenny Galloway! Alfie Boe and Norm Lewis were great as Valjean and Javert. I had no idea Matt Lucas could sing so well, and though I'd heard of Ramin Karimloo, I hadn't heard him sing before, either. And the young ladies playing Cosette and Eponine blew poor bb Nick Jonas out of the water. He gets points for trying, but he was just outclassed from all angles. I found myself wishing Cosette and Eponine would run away together instead. They also had a really great encore performance of "Bring Him Home" at the end with Colm Wilkinson and three other Valjeans! And Michael Ball was as jolly as always. Take notes, Nick.
Ugh, a few fingers on my left hand are swollen. Must stop typing now...
